Ive had the complete OPPOSITE experience with S&W on multiple occasions. First thing I do when I buy a gun is take it apart down to the springs. I just like to know how they work. My 4 year old son was watching me and was just fascinated. He walked off with a tiny spring that puts tension the on the slide release. Called SW and they sent the part to me for free. I put the APEX trigger parts in my carry m&P 9. I decided to order extra springs and a couple of trigger bars to mess around with. I did not get those for free, but I had no trouble ordering from SW. When they changed the twist rate in the 9mm barrels to 1/10, I called SW to order one since the older, slower, twist barrels did not shoot 147g bullets very well. I had no issues getting one from SW. I love my M&P pistols. m&p 9 full size, M&p 9 compact, M&P 9 shield.
