Message: <blockquote data-quote="TerryMiller" data-source="post: 3225706" data-attributes="member: 7900"><p>Time was, and I think it was before Castle Doctrine really came into being, we were taught that if a suspect was running away from you, they were not to be considered a threat, even if they were still within one's home.  Only if the suspect was running, was shooting back at the homeowner, and possibly that one could definitively prove that they were shooting as they were running, could one be comfortable in saying they were shooting in self defense.  Otherwise, if they were retreating, it would be hard to prove they were threatening, especially if the home owner/apartment resident had no other witnesses confirming the suspect was shooting back.</p></blockquote><p></p>
