One of the hacked emails pointed out that Sony's CEO thought it was a terrible movie. Sony was the one to offer the theaters the "option" to drop the movie, which they did. Could they have also nudged the big chains to do it? Yep. Then when Sony says they're pulling it, it isn't because they "wanted" to, but because they "had" to. Now comes the insurance claim on the movie (which I truly hope the insurer tells them to eat it). It's a pretty transparent move. It's not like they were dealing with a credible terrorist threat to commit violence at the theaters. They didn't even wait for the FBI report that concluded it was the North Korean government behind the hack. Sony could've flipped Kim Jong Un the bird, but they knew if they did, a LOT more dirty laundry was coming (and it may still). All in all, I think they took a dive. They caved to a blackmailer. They did it to save what very little reputation they had left. We already know they're topped with backstabbing little hypocrites, so I hope they get everything they deserve. :)
