The .gov people will change any law, any statute, any amendment to suit their needs and make you the criminal. The Congress and Senate are both bringing 'pack the Supreme Court' legislation to the floor.

Gentlemen, prepare to defend yourselves and your dog .

Someone I know put a Noveske KX3 on an AR pistol and it made a significant difference in shootability compared to an A2 flash hider. It went from feeling like a typical boom cannon AR pistol that shakes your sinuses into more like a 16" bone stock AR with a mid-length gas system.

In Noveske's case, the KX3 did reduce the report by 1 or 2 decibels and they had to get an exception from the ATF to sell it. This is also why the KX3 clones made by KAK and other companies don't have the same internal baffle/cone.

It's been my understanding that any device with baffles/steel wool (or any other sound absorbing component) is legally considered a suppressor.

A simple open-ended cone/tube shaped device shouldn't be an issue. However, the use of baffles/inserts/etc. would make me avoid it like the plague.

Just my 2¢ ... :drunk2:
