In the 60"s to early 70's. You could go into Wards, Penneys, or even the corner drug store in Houston and by a mauser or a milsurp for $19 - $29 you could get a mail order 1911 lend-lease colt for $29.95. A bayonet at the army surplus store for $5 your pick from the barrel. Times have changed- big time.
