Well the weather is getting colder and the planning is underway for this years Polar Plunge. If you are not familier with the Polar Plunge it is an event that is held every year to help raise money for the Special Olympics Oklahoma and the 9500 plus athletes that compete at events throughout the year. At the Polar Plunge registered participants take a brief "plunge" into water. To register you can go to the Special Olympics Oklahoma website or Firstgiving.com. I have created a www.Facebook.com page for the Norman Polar Plunge event. If you type norman polar plunge facebook into the google search bar the top result should be the facebook page. Please add it as a friend and share it will your friends and family to help spread the word. If you are willing to help out with the event in any way, or if you would be willing to brave cold water for just a few seconds to help raise money for people in our community then please register or send me an email. You can plunge as an individual or with a team. There are prizes that are given out for the youngest plunger, oldest plunger, most money raised, and several other things. After the Norman area Polar Plunge we will be hosting a Family Friendly after party at OConnells on Campus Corner. Jeff has been more than welcoming and is letting us take over his restaurant for the day. We are going to have a silent auction, specialty non-alcoholic mixed drink, food specials, and possibly many more fun things for family and friends to do to help raise more money for the Special Olympics Oklahoma and the 9500 plus athletes. Thanks as always, Bobby Bruemmer
