I'm pretty sure the speed of 17,500 mph is relative to a fixed point of the earth. Is it moving or does the earth rotate that fast or a combination? I thought it was stationary?
Yep. And it was about 250 miles up according to the info I received.FYI
ISS is moving faster than a speeding bullet.....10X the speed of a rifle bullet actually.

No launch today of the starship. The fog rolled in and they scrapped the launch.SpaceX has purchased two oil drilling platforms in the Gulf. One is just now arriving in Pascagula ,MS to be rebuilt. The two rigs have been renamed Demos and Phobos (after the Martian moons).
Wind will be about the same as today, so it may launch. Fog on Tuesday, extreme high winds on Wednesday, and apparently air space issues today. NASA had two planes in the air from Houston to observe right before the scrub. No launch of SN9 today.....problems with FAA approval. Apparently the approval is set for tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed and an eye on Boca Chica tomorrow.
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/elon-musk-donations-republicans_n_5b4e4bd8e4b0b15aba897481Billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, a man widely hailed as a world leader in the fight to combat climate change, has doled out nearly 7 times as much cash to Republican campaigns and political committees this election cycle as he has to Democratic ones.
Since the start of 2017, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has personally contributed $88,900 to Republicans, while he gave those on the other side of the aisle $13,300, according to a HuffPost review of Federal Election Commission data.
Musk came under fire this week after Salon first reported that he’d donated $38,900 to Protect the House, a GOP political action committee focused on maintaining Republican control of the House. The June contributions puts him among the PAC’s top 50 donors.
