Steel Challenge at OKC Gun Club 2-20-16

I'm a complete amateur so please forgive me for the questions but I would like to attend the next one. What are the rules? As far as pistols, division, equipment etc?

We're planning on 6 stages, 5 strings each, 5 targets per string.
Approx. 150 Min. Round Count

Rimfire:
Pistol/Rifle (no tube fed rifles)

Centerfire:
Pistol Caliber Only (Carbines must be 9mm/40/45acp)


Divisions:
Rimfire Open
Rimfire Irons

Centerfire Open
Centerfire Limited
Centerfire Revolver

Rimfire Rifle Open
Rimfire Rifle Irons

Carbine Open
Carbine Irons



10AM start time [sign-in will start about 9:30]
Setup will begin Sat. at 8:30 & all help is appreciated

$15 for club members, $20 for non-members, $5 for a second gun (2 guns max)
$5 for the kiddos.

Is open center fire over 10 rds? Limited less than 10 rounds? Also is there a rule against using appendix positioned holster?

You have to use a holster that covers the trigger. Holsters are worn at 3 o'clock.
Center fire open is race guns with optics and/or muzzle brakes.
You fire at 5 steel targets, 5 times. Only 4 strings are scored for time. The worst string is thrown out.
If you have a stock factory Centerfire gun, you would be shooting limited.

What squad were you on?

The one with all of quick guys including some old guy named Dennis (I say because I'm an old guy also) with a rimfire rifle and a rimfire pistol that was kicking A!!

Is open center fire over 10 rds? Limited less than 10 rounds?

No round limit in either class. Load them them to the top. But be sure and change sometime between strings. I had to change within the string of fire a couple of times because I flat forgot to swap mags before it started. The very least of my problems.

Don't know if you guys knew, but Kevin Toothman, on squad #3 placed #2 in the World Speed Shooting Championships last year.

It was great to get to watch him in action.

That dude is a freak show at Steel Challenge

I almost could not believe it when I saw him shoot sub 2.50 on the first stage (stage 5) we were on with both centerfire and rimfire on almost every string.
