Steel Shot question

Need a little input on steel shot loads for 20ga. Took my boys duck hunting and had issues with needing several shots on some wood ducks. One gun is cylinder bore(I know, it's fixed choke but LOP fits him and I didn't have another barrel this season) so heshot first

I prefer a mod/full choke and 3” magnum #2 steel shot. Get him to the range and shoot some targets at 20, 40, 60 yards so he can see how tight his pattern will be. Got to be a good shot with ducks. Good luck to that young man!
