Models are based on assumptions. Assumptions can be wrong.

Sometime you must act based on model predictions....but the big mistake our leaders made was failing to model the harmful effects of the shutdowns.

The media grabs onto the most negative thing they can find and trumpet it from the rooftops ...that is how they get paid by selling advertising. So the media is partly to blame by generating public opinion/fear which drove the politicians to do the shutdowns. Likewise it was an election year.

Here, but occasionally There.
Many moons ago, I took some training which was to give me the "title" of "Fuel and Lubricant Expert." When I told one of our local farmers where I had been that day, he asked me if I knew what an expert was." I wasn't sure what he'd say, so I asked him to enlighten me.

He asked me to pronounce the word "expert." Then he told me to define what a "spurt" was. That's when I linked "ex" with "spurt" and came up with a "drip."
