As one of the plaintiffs who sued the District for the right to keep handguns in the home, Palmer has one notch on his belt. Now he's suing the city again, this time for the right to carry firearms in public.

Palmer, a 53-year-old fellow at the libertarian Cato Institute, says he thinks he has the Constitution on his side.

This case was filed by Alan Gura, who was the guy who brought DC v Heller and also argued in McDonald v Chicago. As I understand it, amendments are incorporated piecemeal so just because Heller confirmed an individual right to bear arms, and McDonald will likely incorporate that against the states, so even if they win this one it won't automatically incorporate the right to carry. But I can dream...
