I will preface this by saying I am cheap, so take it with a grain of salt. Nothing wrong with a TAG, but they seem pretty ubiquitous nowadays. I prefer something unique. Find a neat old Accutron or vintage Swiss Army with a NATO-style strap and it is far more interesting, IMHO. A TAG is still a good watch, just not my style. Oh, and nothing wrong with a quartz. Sure an Automatic is cooler, a piece of crafted art, but a quartz is dead-on reliable and keeps better time :D I am also far too hard on watches to own one worth more than $200 or so. I have a $450 Seiko I got as a gift and is only worn on special occasions.
