Just saw this on Black Label Armament's facebook page:

A cartoonist from Kansas City put out this cartoon as a jab at the pro 2nd amendment crowd. It is absolutely disgusting and below the cartoon is BLA's comments along with all the contact info for this idiot and his workplace / chain of command. Please email them or give them a call (or calls) to let them know what you think of them.

Mr. Lee Judge, a cartoonist at the Kansas City Star, got out his pens and his crayons recently and drew this little picture of his take on the murder of Chris Kyle. Now, we at BBC are all in favor of the 1st Amendment, after all it lets us enjoy some fine publications and the expression of free thought is a great and noble thing. However, people and groups of certain political persuasions and ideologies think the 1st Amendment belongs to them and only them.

To Mr Judge I say this, the 1st Amendment works both ways, **** face.

I usually don't get very angry about stuff like this, but I find my blood pressure rising as I try and fathom how someone could do something so idiotic with a right defended by the person they are slamming.

I just posted this on their facebook page:

I honestly cannot believe you would stoop to the level of making fun of a decorated veteran who came back state-side to establish a non-profit organization to help veterans. Wow. I don't even have the words to describe how disgusting this is.

If you are wondering why people are sending nasty responses, it's because of the nastiness of this cartoon and what it is directly doing (namely using the death of a hero as if it were a pawn in a funny jab at an opposing political view).

I honestly hope the repercussions of this are that you lose enough subscribers that it impacts your business. How ironic is it that you used the freedom under the 1st amendment as a means of slandering the 2nd along with a hero who protected both.

I wrote emails to all of the above. Unfortunately, the likelihood of anything coming of it is pretty dismal. Now, what if he had drawn the same comic with all the grave sites of the kids murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary? Then he'd have the President calling him out on it and he'd be fired and never work again... I love my 1st Amendment rights, but somebody intentionally mocking the murder of an American hero should be criminal in my opinion. What a complete POS.

Dear Sir:

I have just seen your recent cartoon which depicts the grave of Chris Kyle with a caption, “If only there had been a good guy with a gun around.”

If I may be frank, I was incensed when I saw it. I find political satire around this tragedy to be despicable and wholly inappropriate.

You and I quite obviously hold different views regarding the meaning of the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution, which in this greatest nation on earth is each of our rights. I would remind you that it is persons such as Chief Kyle and likeminded citizens championing their rights under Amendment number 2 that ultimately protect your 1st Amendment right to publish things like this cartoon.

Chief Kyle was a patriot, hero, and a role model. He chose to serve his country, and did not choose how his services were employed. Whether you agree with policies and orders he followed, he should be respected- especially in death.

It is unfortunate that Chief Kyle lost his life while fellowshipping with a veteran afflicted with PTSD, but that is also an undeniably honorable thing to do. What I also find unfortunate is the publicity that you and your organization have gained from this.

I hope you never encounter a situation where you need a good guy with a gun.

Regards-
