Dear Sir: I have just seen your recent cartoon which depicts the grave of Chris Kyle with a caption, “If only there had been a good guy with a gun around.” If I may be frank, I was incensed when I saw it. I find political satire around this tragedy to be despicable and wholly inappropriate. You and I quite obviously hold different views regarding the meaning of the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution, which in this greatest nation on earth is each of our rights. I would remind you that it is persons such as Chief Kyle and likeminded citizens championing their rights under Amendment number 2 that ultimately protect your 1st Amendment right to publish things like this cartoon. Chief Kyle was a patriot, hero, and a role model. He chose to serve his country, and did not choose how his services were employed. Whether you agree with policies and orders he followed, he should be respected- especially in death. It is unfortunate that Chief Kyle lost his life while fellowshipping with a veteran afflicted with PTSD, but that is also an undeniably honorable thing to do. What I also find unfortunate is the publicity that you and your organization have gained from this. I hope you never encounter a situation where you need a good guy with a gun. Regards- KT Edmond, OK CC: Miriam Pepper Mi- Ai Parrish Mike Fannin Tim Doty Chris Christian Chris Piwowarek
