Long story short at the end of the exercise, the cadre running it gathered up all the leaders to recap, and one of them handed the company commander an M9 pistol he found on the ground. The company commander started to get fired up about how he was going to nail that soldier‘s ass to the wall and then one of the other officers standing there looks down in his holster and saw it was empty and said “oh that might be mine.” The company commander, handed it back to him, both with a sheepish grin that was the end of it. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if that belonged to some private.</blockquote>
