It called for 1"gas line but the 3/4 " I had worked.  It put out so much hot water that I had to run the bathroom sink hot water at the same time so I could take a shower. The unit is very flow sensitive. If they don't have enough flow the flame shuts down.  Mine broke and Lowes replaced it under warranty. I live in Ponca City and no one within a hundred miles could work on it. The special stainless steel vent piping really cost a lot. I don't know if I would do it again or not. If you go with an electric one, you will have to run very heavy gage wire.</p></blockquote><p></p>
