Taurus 38 super to 9mm conversion?

Has anyone ever tried this before? I am thinking about getting a Taurus 38 super at a good price and also wanted a 1911 9mm just for cheap shooting. Buying two guns is not an option. What all is involved? From what I can tell it just depends, but for sure a barrel. Anyone else have any info?

The breachface may or may not work, I would think you would need a retensioned extractor for shooting 9mm, ejector would probably work, and of course a new barrel. I would also bet on new magazines. Does the Taurus 38 super have a ramped barrel?

PM or call one of the 1911 guys and check with them.

If you reload consider just calling it good at 38 super. I love that round loaded to minor PF. Feeds well, accurate, and the brass just never seems to wear out with minor loads. Probably gets expensive with factory ammo though.
