The interview I saw he said you should really try to protest ... PEACEFULLY. Also made a big deal outta him losing his job. And having to pay restitution to the bail bondman whose storefront he damaged. Oh well ... Actions have consequences. Welcome to the grown-up world ...

Nothing wrong with protesting peacefully, or attending a peaceful protest. The minute things start to go south, it's time to flee.
I went to a lot of parties in my youth, most of them uneventful, except for the occasional soiling of a dove or puking on a carpet. I was at a few though that turned ugly. I wasn't there to see how it all got sorted out. The minute it went south, I was out.
Same deal, if you're at a protest and it turns into a looting, burning, destructive riot and you stay you kinda need to expect things might not turn out well for you.
