[QUOTE="murphranch, post: 3592844, member: 45833"] I received a text message the other day that asked if I would take a certain amount of money for property I don’t even own. The only association I have to the property is that it is owned by my mother in Ponca City. The text addressed me as John Murphy. My full name is John Christopher. No where on any of my mothers legals show my name. In her will the house is to be sold upon her death and the proceeds go into an account that my mom and dad set up for the grandkids college. The text did not come from or have a phone number to respond to. It had an email address that my phone would not respond to when I tried. I know cell phone numbers and legal info can be obtained but I found this kind of odd. My mother who is an 82 year old opinionated fireball received a text from a similar type of email that made an offer on 3 vacant lots in Grainola-population 28-that she owns. The offer was for $8,700 per lot. Once again when mom tried to respond to it her message would not go through. She told me if she was to sell them she would have to meet the buyer in person and also know their every intention on what they were going to do with the lots but mostly wanted to talk to the “little s@#t asses and set them straight” in her words. She was rather pissed that she got the text and that somehow her number was obtained. I told her that she would be surprised what all they can get a hold of these days. Another disturbing thing is the offensive and fowl sexual texts that I and many many other people have been receiving lately. I’ve heard the search engines can scan through phone info send info related texts. There would be a few questionable web searches on my phone but there are people receiving these texts that I guarantee you will not have midget porn pop up on their most visited web sites. They have been so numerous that there was an article in the paper asking about them and several Facebook posts asking also. Any of you forum members receiving any of these?
