The brown worm

So I was reloading some 45 acp the other day on my dillion 450. I was moving right along and then I noticed my overall cartridge length was varying. Wtf? I proceed to adjust my seating die station and notice a brown worm of bullet lube sticking out of the die. Time to clean out dies and clean/lube press while I am at it.

I had the same thing happen when I was reloading 9mm. I check the dies before each reloading session now.
