"Smell of sulfur and destruction"

"Bruised my shoulder"

"brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face"

I wonder if the shop owner handed him a left handed 7.5in barreled .458 SOCOM or something.

"It felt like I was shooting a bazooka"? How many people know what that feels like? And the part about him saying the AR-15 was deafening even with hearing protection on, but he's shot pistols before? Does anyone out there have some standard dbl's for a AR-15 in 5.56, which is be willing to bet he was shooting .223, and some dbl's for a 9, .40, and a .45? Can't see them being noticeably different other than they are just loud, idk, just seems like someone trying to describe something they don't like in he worst possible way
