[QUOTE="TerryMiller, post: 2212086, member: 7900"] [FONT=Georgia][SIZE=3] On Memorial Day weekend, I had the distinct pleasure of seeing the USS Batfish Memorial in Muskogee. It was eye-opening to see the conditions under which the WWII soldiers and sailors had to work and live. With luck, I'll check out the 45th Infantry Museum this weekend. One of the reasons I want to go there is because they have an extensive collection of Bill Mauldin cartoons. He is famous for the Willie and Joe cartoons that depicted the soldier's life during WWII. He was also known for aggravating the brass with his cartoons. Here is one of his cartoons that has been a favorite of mine ever since I saw it in his book, "Up Front."
