Is the Beslan Massacre a practice-run against Western schools?

Eight years ago today, Chechen Muslim terrorists launched an attack on a school in Beslan, Russia that resulted in the slaughter of 338 people.

Probably the last place you want to think of terrorists striking is your kids' school. But according to two trainers at an anti-terrorism conference on the East Coast, preparations for attacks on American schools that will bring rivers of blood and staggering body counts are well underway in Islamic terrorist camps.

Beslan and Mumbai are the nightmare scenarios for security professionals. I’ve always felt the Beslan massacre was an out and out retaliation for the 02’ Moscow Theater attack. The stated goal of Russian recognition of the independence of Chechnya at the UN and Russian withdrawal from Chechnya doesn’t jive with the TTP’s employed by the Chechen terrorists in Beslan. They knew from the outset there would be a bloodbath and they specifically employed phased planning and execution to bring about that result. They wanted death, psychological trauma and long term remembrance on an epic scale. Public reports of the siege do not routinely mention the absolute atrocities committed within the school before the explosions. What they terrorists did to the captives is nearly unspeakable.

As far as terrorist operations, it’s a brilliant and nearly perfectly executed plan. One we’d do well to remember. You could even say that some of the pre-operational tactics could be pulled straight from the page on the Bath School Massacre perpetrated by Andrew Kehoe in 1927. He pre-staged explosives within the school as well.

Stopping terrorists from attacking schools, churchs, malls, sniping ect. is a problem without a solution. We can try but its going to cost us in loss of rights and liberties.

Same with "mental" people shooting up schools, malls, churches or killing elected official and others. Just to TRY and prevent "mental" people from killing will cost us rights and liberties.

I think its time to converse amoungst ourselves and either bend our stance or risk losing gunrights.

They arrested a man this morning for threatening to set his wife on fire as she slept. He told her he was going to set her on fire when she fell asleep and then on go to the school that is less than 1000 feet from his house and kill as many kids as he could before he got stopped. Those are his words. The cops found 45 guns "hidden" throughout his house and a direct route to the school through a few trails starting at his backyard. He is in his early 60s. Apparently shooting kids is in these days for the crazies.

An 18 year-old senior is in jail in b-ville. He was arrested Friday morning for planning a shooting in his high school. Only got busted because he was trying to recruit a couple of friends to help.

After this incident or the next one, the Anti's will have the conversation of Banning something, with us or without us.

If we give them the same logical and reasonable arguments, we shouldnt expect the same result. Emotional arguments tend to win in our political situation. And that sucks for us.

We should be prepared to lose, because that is what is going to happen. As irrational as it is, the good guys are going to lose rights because of a few crazies. I personally don't feel we should bend one inch, but it won't matter because we are going to be railroaded.

There will be at least one more attack on the general public before next Friday. The unstable want to make their mark before the end of the world.

A friend suggested we'd see 2 more school shootings before the end of the school year, and at least one more major public incident in the same time frame.
