They knew from the outset there would be a bloodbath and they specifically employed phased planning and execution to bring about that result. They wanted death, psychological trauma and long term remembrance on an epic scale. Public reports of the siege do not routinely mention the absolute atrocities committed within the school before the explosions. What they terrorists did to the captives is nearly unspeakable. As far as terrorist operations, it’s a brilliant and nearly perfectly executed plan. One we’d do well to remember. You could even say that some of the pre-operational tactics could be pulled straight from the page on the Bath School Massacre perpetrated by Andrew Kehoe in 1927. He pre-staged explosives within the school as well.</blockquote>
