Actually I was thinking of the professional benchrest league, they hold 6 separate matches a year from North Carolina to MissourI. You have to qualify to be on the circuit, and the shooters are payed to shoot, they don't have to buy their way in by purchasing a "pro card", and they don't rely on a prize table to get their pay out. It is a true professional sport, and it is shooting, and it is in the U.S.
I think the CMP competitors are amatures in the fact they are not payed to play, but the match production is certainly professional. I was merely pointing out that 3-gun nation isn't the only one. What it is though, is the only one in the action shooting sports.
I believe there is also a professional live bird shoot series, but I couldn't find a link to it sorry.
