Pretty far fetched. Every state had militias. Slave patrols were indeed selected from state militias, but were not the same. You are better off disbanding state police with the same argument (they do trace directly to "patrols") then pushing anti-gun agenda.
I like how where the quote doesn't say anything about slaves he just puts in [slaves] .
Some on this site have in fact become slaves to the mass hysteria of panic gun and ammo buying. Still keeping the man down after all these years.
It is just the usual left wing fall back, if you are against anything they want it is because you are racist. This is just as bad as a piece I read about a month ago that claimed if you did want gun control it is because you are a racist. They claimed this because so much of the crime committed in this country is against minorities and gun control would take away their ability to defend themselves.
Where is that darn "like" button?
I'm sure that little 8-year spat with Great Britain that started when they tried to disarm us had nothing to do with it.
