Ammo for Hakim will be less, since it's 8mm mauser.
went to the range yesterday. walked it in at 50 using surplus ammo, the last shot over the bull is my load of 34 gr of imr 4895 and 140 gr a-max. took it out to 100 and the wind was really tossing the bullets around. i'll wait til a calm day and go at it again but heres what yesterday looked like
I have a Swede like that also, it is a little hard on the brass but still reloadable. I took mine deer hunting several years ago. Yes, it is a heavy rifle.

BRT, that is the Hakim you are thinking of and its in 8mm i believe. Actually, it looked like the surplus brass was getting beat up worse than my reloads were. I need to make up some sort of brass catcher. While the other shooters were setting up new targets, i was hunting brass. The thing throws it forward 30 feet!
The Rasheed is the little brother to the Hakim.

BRT, now you've gone and done it! I've been wanting to add a 7.62x39 gun to my collection and AK's and SKS's just don't do it for me. I will be on the

I wasn't familiar with the Rasheed either but that is a cool little carbine!
