So Daryl already knew Merle went on his own & I believe he knew why. Merle had preached from the time he arrived at the prison that there was no deals with the Governor & that the Governor would kill them all or worse. He knew Rick was thinking about taking the deal & that he would take Daryl with him. So in an attempt to save his brother & get revenge on the Governor he went off on his own. From the way it played out Merle knew it was a suicide mission. I was glad to see him show his human side by letting Michonne go & using the walkers to help him instead. Showed he was capable of not being a complete a-hole but also wasn't comfortable not being one either.</p></blockquote><p></p>
