As for the burning of the pig sty it was kinda symbolic of rick wanting to change and be a more passive farmer type but that was not working out so he had to go back to his old ways (strapping on the gun belt), also rick was hurt most on loosing the pigs even though he told Carl not to name them rick was the one attached to them raising them from piglets.</blockquote>
