Anyone done this before? Henry is known for painting their black receivers that are prone to scratch. Thinking a cerakote finish would protect it and look better years down the road. It's brand new and for $200 the complete rifle could be done. Pros - cons please.

Pro: you don’t have to worry about scratching it up. Also, I feel like they rust really easy. Not new Remington 870 rusting fast, but still more than what I would like to see for a gun I hunt with regularly.

Con: it costs money.

I say go for it. I won’t pay extra for a cerakoted gun. I typically don’t care to get the previous owners camo pattern or whatever. But if you just make it look OE with OE colors, I can’t see it hurting resale down the road if that’s what you be up doing.

Thanks
Was thinking doing same semi gloss black finish rifle already has. Only doing it for my own use cause will probably be a hand me down for grandkids. They just scratch so easy.
