<blockquote data-quote="aarondhgraham" data-source="post: 2838103" data-attributes="member: 13337"><p>The Riverside sheriff was very anti-2nd amendment,,,</p><p>Little nuisances like constitutionality just got in the way of his job,,,</p><p>So much so that he "directed" his deputies to "take possession of" encountered firearms.</p><p></p><p>This isn't here-say I'm spouting,,,</p><p>My wife was a dispatcher for UC Riverside police dept.</p><p></p><p>She used to bring me the bulletins they received,,,</p><p>City of Riverside, UC Riverside, and Riverside County Sheriff all overlapped jurisdiction.</p><p></p><p>We lived just outside the city limits on 5 rented acres,,,</p><p>One night we heard the horses making noise,,,</p><p>So I grabbed my flashlight and 1911.</p><p></p><p>My wife called 911 and informed them that I was out there armed,,,</p><p>By the time two deputies arrived the burglars had fled,,,</p><p>The deputies were still outside my locked gate,,,</p><p>I told them the bad guys had left.</p><p></p><p>One said, "We'll have whatever handgun you are carrying."</p><p></p><p>My reply was a simple "no."</p><p></p><p>So they climbed over my gate and chased me as I ran to my house,,,</p><p>I got inside and they tried to push their way inside,,,</p><p>I tossed my pistol on the couch across the room.</p><p></p><p>They still tried to push their way in,,,</p><p>But my wife was behind me with her police ID out,,,</p><p>Screaming out that she was a dispatcher and had her watch commander on the line.</p><p></p><p>That was the last straw for me,,,</p><p>Less than a year later I was on my way back home to Oklahoma.</p><p></p><p>I've never looked back.</p><p></p><p>Aarond</p><p></p><p>.</p></blockquote><p></p>
