When members of the senate went to vote on the Fiscal Cliff bill, they were given 3 minutes to read 154 pages of the bill before voting.
Gifted readers can only read about 2 pages.

Tax hikes for some, and billion dollars in pork. Billions of dollars to keep the wind energy from going belly up as it can't survive on its own, 430 million in tax breaks for hollywood film makers, the list goes on.

Where is the fiscal responsibility?

What makes it worse, is that the house violated a pledge to let the public see any new legislation three days before voting on it, in the Pledge to America in 2010

Checked my paystub this morning. Found that even though I went with a "less expensive" health insurance plan (because my old one was cancelled for being too good, no joke) I am paying $20 more a check. Also found I've been blessed with the opportunity to pay an extra $30 a check to Social Security, even though they are bankrupt. Thank you to our president and congress for giving themselves raises and patting themselves on the back for "avoiding the fiscal cliff," while us working class get more wage garnishments. /rant

So Hollywood gets a $266M tax break, while the common man gets a tax hike! Thanks Mr. President! Obviously, all this fiscal cliff BS has nothing to do with increasing revenue to the federal government. It's all about scratching each others backs.

It is all about increasing revenue to the federal government, so that they can spend more. There will be NO cuts in spending. That $15 billion in cuts is spread over ten years which means they promised to cut $1.5 billion a year while we are running over $1 trillion dollar a year defects and you can bet those cuts never really happen. Heck the promised cuts from the last few debt ceiling agreements have not happened either.
