Joe's Crab Shack really pissed us off one evening. We had just finished the all-you-can-eat crab meal for four people and the service was atrocious. You almost had to pop smoke to get anyone's attention for more crab. I still say this is by design to keep you from eating over their profit margin.

When it was time to pay the bill I gave the waitress our card and she came back with an automatic 50% tip added. I RAISED HELL! THey said that was their policy and if I contested it they would take it off but it would be ten days before I saw it on my CC statement. Again, I RAISED HELL! I told everyone in there eating what had just happened and the people outside walking in. Some got up from the table and the people outside left.

Joes took my money and had access to it over ten days for free before paying it back.

Free money loans from unsuspecting people and what about those who never noticed and keeping their money?

Every time I think about it I get pissed!
Chenry would have given them a 100 percent tip anyway.

Think about it.

It is purely a financial scam. They can blame the communication between retail and accounting for causing the delay. In fact, they are using your money to do short term investments without having to pay interest to you.
Do you know how company payroll works? I think thats all it is. In my account its readily available to charge, but they have to reconcile every dime and payroll maybe once a week or whatever. I don't believe its any kind of scam. Besides, they are refunding me $10 maybe, pffft. They aint investing much with that and it sure isn't going to break me.
You must me miserable with all your negative views.
Think more positive and maybe add in some better logic. The world is not out to get you. The world doesnt even know who you are. LOL

Interesting experience you have. One of my brothers is a waiter in Vegas. He is the same way. He doesn't like the culture now because he believes he earns his tips by making sure the customers are happy. Kitchen might f it up but he fixes it and makes sure everyone is happy and sees that as how his tips are earned.
Trump had a rally in vegas today - announced that he will immediately eliminate the tax on tips --that is a good step in the right direction

Money Bags!!
Not really,
If I eat a $10 lunch I have no issue leaving $4-$5 bucks if my time there was enjoyable and the food was good.
Now if I go to a nice steakhouse with a date and the bill is $70, I'll leave $20 or $25. And I recently walked into Bubbas 33 (great food) and we sat in the bar area at a booth. and I look over and see 5 OKC police walk in. I told the nice waitress to bring me their tab when they were done eating. She did and it wasnt terrible but close to $60 for 5 men. I paid $20 on top of that for the tip.
When they got up they walked over to me and I stood up and shook all their hands as they thanked me. I told em I also paid a good tip. They said we left a nice tip also, so she did pretty good on 1 table.
That server likely made $50 on that 1 table.
Makes me smile to help deserving young people who try hard. If only we had more of that.

One of the things Scott and I enjoy doing is the entire month of December every time we go out and eat we will find a table of people -- sometimes it's a little elderly man or woman eating alone; sometimes it's a young family; sometimes it's a group of first responders -- and we ask our waitress to snag their tab, run it on our card and tell the person or people that Santa paid for their meal(s) and to have a Merry Christmas. It is a riot to watch whomever try to figure out who paid for their meal. Lol I think we enjoy being sneaky a lot more than anyone whose meal we paid for enjoyed getting their meal paid for. It is really a lot of fun! 😁

Heck my first career year at ODOT in 1992, I made $7.33 an hour on a location survey crew. I thought I was in the "short rows" (some of you know what that means lol) because it was twice the min. wage of $3.25.
$1,733.33 a month net.
Now I'd starve to death on that.
I feel old lol

Times have changed.

Was watching Smokie and the Bandit. Sheriff Justice ordered 2 cheeseburgers and 2 drinks, total $1.50.
Cletus gets fuel, FULL SERVICE pump, fill up $37.50. I was making $5.50 and living good.

Last Sunday, we went to eat at casino. Waitress took order and I checked the time. We were there a couple months ago and remembered food being slow and less than mediocre. Heard the food had improved, due to new casino restaurant opening.

45 minutes and no food. 5 tables / 10 customers (including us). Asked our waitress about it (had seen no food come out). She says she has been checking and hopes we get our food.

5 minutes later, food starts coming out. 3 tables were seated when we arrived. 4 tables received food before we got ours.

The food was vastly improved. Waitress took good care of us. When the bill was brought out, I asked if tips went in the drawer, were shared or not. She said the cooks, hostess and bussing; all got a share.
I marked the ticket $0 and put cash in her hand. Told her not to share it, except for $3 for bussing. The kitchen didn't deserve anything and would like her to tell them, she got stiffed on tip BECAUSE of kitchen.

Went to the new casino, tonight. Outstanding food, better prices, great service. Left cash tip on table.

As we were leaving, Wif couldn't find phone. I walked back to restaurant, waitress was at hostess stand. I asked if Wif had left phone on table? She says, "go look."
Table had been bussed, tip still on table.
Waitress seen me picked it up and came rushing over wanting to help. I said, attitude is everything, palmed half and gave her half. Wif shows up, finally found phone in her purse.

I do that. Occasionally I’m told you’re too late. Except I will not pay for alcohol.
