It cost them so much they had to cut costs somewhere. IMO, R&D suffered greatly, along with QC. That's had a cascading effect on Toyota reliability ratings. We've had 4 TMC vehicles across 17 years, but currently have none. One vehicle on my short list is the new GX 550 Overtrail, but it's all-new for 2024 and shares this engine.
