Trans-Siberian at the Ford Center

I've got tickets for me and the ex-GF to see the show, the problem is that I've never been down to the Ford Center. We'll be on a pretty tight timeline as we will be coming in from Wichita tomorrow night.

Does anyone have suggestions on parking? That's my biggest beef with going downtown for anything. I figure if we can just get parked by 6-6:30 we will be in good shape.

Also, from what I understand, CCWs are restricted, correct?


Anybody else going to this show tomorrow night?

CCW is prohibited. Best bet is parking at one of the garages nearby, but out of all the construction. Sante Fe Parking garage on Gaylord, around N. 2nd or 3rd is probably best, you cant get within about a block of the Center due to traffic and construction, its 1 way, 1 lane around the whole thing.

If you want free parking, I'm not telling you to park in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot and walk to the Ford Center since they have signs saying they'll tow, I'm just going to tell you that the X amount of times I've parked there and not stepped foot inside the store, I've never been towed, nor known anyone who has. This would make for a good 15 minute walk, and since it'll be cold out, it might not be worth it.

There's also free parking for Toby Keith's restaurant and movie theater parking behind both facilities. This would shave a couple of minutes off your walk versus parking at Bass Pro, probably still not worth it.

If you don't mind spending a few bucks (I think $6) to park to be closer, there's parking underneath the arena.

There's also parking underneath the highway, right next door to the arena if you're early enough.

We always park in the lot just west of the theater off of Reno. Its easy in and out and is close enough to the Ford Center that the walk is not bad.

Trans Siberian isn't pro sports and I don't recall metal detectors at the Ford Center...

And if they check as good as the guys at the Thunder games (which is restricted by law), you could carry a BFG in there.

my wife and I always park at the hotel east of the Ford center, we can sit indoors and enjoy a cup of coffee and then it's right there. Enjoy the show, have been 3 times but not this year because of it being the middle of the week.

My GF just got us tickets for the show in Wichita on the 15th. I have always meant to go see them and never have. You will have to let us know what you think of the show. I am pretty psyched!

Us, too ... BUT we are going this year! I am really excited ... having dinner at Mickey Mantles first ... gonna be interesting because there is not a hamburger and french fries in a paper bag to be found anywhere on the menu!! LOL

I LOVE Carpaccio and haven't had any in a while so ... GC would DIE before he would ever try it ... sheesh.

Very enjoyable time. Not searched, no gunbuster signs that I saw. Concert was great.......lot longer than I expected. We got our money's worth. Will be going to see them again next year.
