you guys are too funny. Bout the only thing that matters if you are transporting a full mag, is if it happen to be inserted in a firearm. Then you need to have a ccl, no other law need be worried about.

Are we just looking for reasons to be paranoid?

What difference is there in transporting loaded magazines and a box of ammo?

OP, I apologize, not meaning to rag on you, it just seems that we are jumping at shadows lately, and that is what the anti gunners want. Believe it or not, people are not looking for law abiding citizens to arrest. At least not in Oklahoma, ...... yet.

Micro-thread?

Anyone can have loaded magazines as long as they are not in the pistol. I had kinda similar questions like this years back so i will preemptively answer a couple more transport questions. Transporting unloaded applies to rifles, shotguns, and pistols. You can transport pistols anywhere in the vehicle as long as they are visible, if the pistol is in a case the case has to at least be partially visible. Rifles and shotguns can be out of view inside your car if unloaded. A lot of people including some LEOs will tell you that firearms have to be in the trunk but that is not true. Lastly if you have a CCW you can have a magazine loaded (not chamber loaded) rifle or shotgun in an exterior compartment.

Here is a link to the law, page 26 is what you are looking for but the whole book deserves a read.

If you have a CCL, you can legally transport a pistol loaded or unloaded, concealed or unconcealed, wherever you want in the vehicle. If no CCL, it cannot legally be chamber or mag loaded, and cannot legally be concealed on or about your person. There is a laundry list of affirmatively legal ways to transport in 21 O.S. Section 1289.7.
