You are not. I am one of those that decided it was and went all in.

Running an MRDS on a handgun is what I call duty rig x3. By the time you mill or buy an optic ready weapon, buy the optic, re-holster and train, you are going to be in it for duty rig x3. Obviously weapon #2, you could drop the training part some, but it's expensive none the less.

I happened to win a P320 with an optic installed for a 25 dollar buy in, so I was able to get in cheap. This was 3 years ago, and it was a Benjamin to run 500 hundred rounds down range and get proficient with it. What I noticed for me, was at 10 yards and beyond, my hit ratio tripled, and my times went way down. It clicked quick for me and I was hooked.

Another positive I noticed, was it made me a better iron's shooter too. Improved my technique overall.

My biggest take away from switching, was I am 100% target focused now. I don't worry about a front sight or aiming for that matter anymore. If I do my part, there is a dot hovering in front of my face that gets placed on target.

Ah! Thanks for the perspective. That makes sense.

You can pick up a used Glock 19 (or P320, etc) with milling and an optic for $800 to $1200, depending on the optic/gun. It's hard to find someone who wants to get rid of them, but that can save you some money and time. Still less than most 1911s!

Next time a bunch of the OK Shooter guys get together, I plan on coming. I can bring my optic installed weapons. Anyone is welcome to blast away with their ammo ;)

It’s no Trijicon but I’ve got a Holosun 507k arriving in the mail today. It’s one of the few micro sized red dots available right now.

I've owned 3 of them (both gen's) and zero issues at all. Holosun is my go to after Trijicon. Same footprint too. For the mini MRDS market, the 507k/407k is the only one to hold up to the abuse testing that Sage Dynamics does. I assume the RMRcc will, but the others have not.

I saw that video Sage did on YouTube. He will definitely put things through hell.

The places that can mill a P365 slide for this optic are few and far between. Moving the rear sight forward of the optic has become more of a challenge to find........

Due to the optic body height, I don't think I'm going to be able to get away from suppressor height on the sights too....

Just run a Odyessa or Erector 9 and use normal sights.
