But my dad didn't always have insurance.Infact, both sides of my family were dirt poor until relatively recently. Many folks in my family have actually died from lack of insurance.For example, my aunt died of easily treatable cancer because she couldn't afford a doctor to check her out.When she was finally treated however she still couldn't afford it and she was treated courtesy of the American taxpayer at the hospital. Or maybe they just shifted the cost to other customers. Either way by then it was terminal.</blockquote>
