I received it today, just under 3 weeks from talking to Tim Thurner on the phone to the holster being delivered to my door. As I knew would be the case, I am very pleased with the holster. This is the Slim XC, a relatively new design from him I believe. It has what is called off-set stitching/molding, which puts most of the molding on the front of the holster and provides a relatively flat back. The holster is at about a 25 degree cant and sits quite low on the belt line, yet still allows me to get a firm grip on the draw. This flat topped Glock 29 is a fat boy, it is a bit wider than my G19, but a bit less in the OAL height and length. I have a Milt Sparks Versa Max II for my G19 and while it is a top shelf holster, I wanted just what I got, an IWB with offset loops, an aggressive forward cant, and I likes me some low ride on an IWB so the ammo-heavy grip doesn’t tend to flop out and away from my belt. Here’s some pics of it, and of the Lightweight KX IWB for my G43 to compare two IWB Designs he has, and then the two TT Gunleather holsters alongside the Sparks VM II. I hope you likey cause I sure do.

About the only time I wear a leather gun belt anymore is if I’m carrying OWB. For IWB, I don’t need it. I am not a slave to either fashion or gun mag reviews; I just know what works and what doesn’t work...for me. When I do use a leather belt, I like the Kramer Horsehide with holes punched every 3/4” rather than at 1” intervals. Kramer makes tough as iron gear. It’s pretty high priced, but I’ll never wear it out.

Says the feller who much prefers good ole leather over Kydex! (and, I agree 100%!)

I do prefer leather over Kydex. But Kydex does have it uses and its applications. Like quick on/off and safely covering the trigger when loaded and sitting somewhere besides on you.
