I've seen more turkeys here in New Mexico in the last 3 days than I have in NW Oklahoma in the last 3 years.

I haven't seen any yet this year, but we saw lots of them in Major County last year.

We have yard turkey. They come almost every week. The jakes are strutting all year long. Reminds me of the pups at the bar on Saturday night strutting their stuff in front of the ladies hoping for a happy ending and getting disappointed.
The mature toms just mingle and eat during the summer.

Had a tom and 3 hens hanging out where we were burning today. They weren’t too worried about us.

I’ve only had one lone bird on camera on my place so far, but when I was heading out a couple weeks ago, I saw a herd of about a hundred on a farmer’s wheat field across the county road from the refuge.
