I read an article about the chase car the USAF uses for the U-2 takeoff and landings.

It also mentioned an anniversary: 60 years ago; Friday; Francis Gay Powers was shot down over Soviet air space.

I saw this at the Satregic Air Command Museum in Ashland, Nebraska -- about half way between Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska

I spent a short time in England at RAF Mildenhall in the eighties. They had both the U-2 and SR-71 there at the time. It was the first time I’d seen either in person much less a Camaro chasing a plane down a runway.
