All that matters is they figured the guy to be fine and trusted him to not hit anyone, which he didn't, and seemingly nobody minded.

Nobody's ever said Yeager was an incompetent instructor.

Someone minded because they posted the video for the world to see.

How do you ensure competent students and what is a competent student?

It's a James Yaeger class. He's not a competent instructor. He has a reputation that's for sure but the general consensus is not positive. Even before the video he was a controversial "instructor"
