They did go to the court before the election, but the court ruled that they had no standing to bring the case because the election had not yet happened. When they brought the case before the court after the election, the court ruled that they had filed too late—basically, they said that they couldn’t bring the case before the election because it hasn’t happened, but they couldn’t bring the case after the election because they should’ve brought it before the election. (That’s my summary of his summary, so it may not be exact, but I think it gets the idea across.)</blockquote>
