This is true. USPSA seems like it has "more" rules, but it's been a very long time since I read the rule book on IDPA, so I may be wrong. What drives me up the wall is that IDPA has a bunch of rules that are so open to interpretation by the SO. In USPSA it's a lot more concrete and uniform across different clubs. But USPSA also has a few rule nazi's that are pretty irritating too, I try to stay out of those threads on Enos. Another thing about IDPA is the round counts are generally quite noticeably smaller, I have a hard time driving to Tulsa to shoot 60 to 75 rounds in an IDPA match when OKCGC's USPSA match usually is pushing 200. And like GTG said, you can run your carry gear if you want in USPSA, there are generally at least a few at each match that do. I've seen several LEO's running their duty belt and it's fairly common at club matches. Just shoot to get out of it what YOU want to get out of it. You'll have a blast either way.
