Now for the back story on my 19-3 snub.

The father in law of my wife's best friend, Dick Morris, was a former Pottawattomi county sheriff's deputy. Being a lawman too, he and I swapped more war stories than anybody could imagine. He carried this little feller everyday for years and years as his sidearm until he retired back in 1997. If it could talk, I'm sure it would probably tell the same stories, but with more truth. Anyway, before Dickie passed back in 2015, he presented it to me and I was so proud to receive it. Along with dad's revolver, these are two of my most prized possessions.

Awesome, GED. As far as I'm concerned, I think I like the Victory better than some of the new stuff. That Victory just hollers out experience and care.

Good on you for "keeping it your dad's."

Thanks Terry. There's actually an elusive 2 inch snub out there with the same fugly grips and the same cheap nickel finish that I've been looking for over the years. Maybe someday I'll get lucky and stumble across one that isn't higher than a cat's back.

I love and honor the good hard earned wear of old firearms. Each scratch, nick, dent and gouge has a story. The bump on the door into the office when you are getting out of the way of a female dispatcher or wrestling a scrote in the hallway enroute from the courtroom. The many nicks and scrapes from vehicles while searching for hidden contraband. The minimal but secret occasions you accidentally dropped it in the gravel at the range. The honest holster wear caused by thousands of draws and reholsters by cleaning, training and securing in vaults before entering jails. Then the best/worst times, the anticipation of usage to be able to return home after shift.
