I've never been to a Wanemacher show, but have heard the fall show is usually the bigger of the two. How much difference is there between the two, if any? And how bad are the prices usually? I'm not up on a 3+ hour trip to see the same kind of gouging and junk as the local shows seem to be nowadays. I thought it would be cool to go check out, depending on when it is, but don't want to feel like I totally wasted my time. I'm usually more interested in used guns like revolvers and lever actions and such, these local shows are usually damn near void of those things. Thanks for input

The spring show will still be big. So big that you cannot see everything there is to see, even if you're there all day, both days. Prices vary, because of the competition between dealers. As to used guns, everything you can imagine will be there.

If you're going to the show to look for a specific, hard-to-find lever action like a Marlin 3000 in 250 Savage, you may be disappointed (if for no other reason than you missed it!) But if you're just looking for lever actions in general, you'll see hundreds of them sprinkled all around the show. I've seen tables with a dozen or more lever actions laid out for sale, usually Winchesters in 30-30 but there's still quite a variety. Ditto with the revolvers. Prices are typical of any gun show.

If you're looking to hit up just one gun show this year, Wanenmacher is it. The spring show isn't much smaller than the fall show - you'd have to look carefully to see much of a difference. Be sure and wear comfortable shoes for walking back and forth among 4,000 tables in an 11-acre building. And bring some Febreze, especially after lunchtime ;)

Here's what is suggest. Make a weekend or overnight around it. Plan other activities but leave a good block of time for the show. That way if you don't find enjoyment in it, it is not awaited weekend. You can grab a nice hotel very cheap off Hotwire.com in downtown on the weekends. I don't know how old you are but several districts have popped up in and around Tulsa downtown.. Or hell if that's not your thing go out to the hard rock hotel / casino.... There are tons of things to do in and around Tulsa. The show is what you make of it. If you are just going for good prices, stay at home. If you don't like moderate crowds, stay home. But if you want to see a lot of neat stuff, classic guns, hard to find ammo etc and don't mind the busy atmosphere... It's definitely something worth checking out. Personally, I think it's worth the price of admission to people watch...

Also it's big, really big. If you see something you want to buy, buy it. There is a chance you might not find that table
Again, let alone someone else buying it. If you want to ponder the purchase take good note of where it is...

The prices are usually so-so but it really shines when you are looking for something specific you have a hard time sourcing locally. This year I'm looking for a carbine length KAC RAS, USMC stamped KAC Micro BUIS, GG&G Eotech flip-covers and filters for my Berkey water filter. Stuff like 5.56 Green Tip is usually better sourced at Academy or Walmart. If you are an FN, HK or Sig owner the big show always has the mags nobody in town carries.

Probably the best advice I can give is wear comfortable shoes!!

Ive never been in spring but always try to go to the fall show. This year I got a hotel and went both days but wished I hadnt. If you hustle some you can see everything...but its a lot of miles so like rlongnt said wear comfy shoes.

Most of the deals I passed up on saturday thinking I could get a little cheaper on sunday were either sold or the person selling them was MIA. If you find a decent deal on something you are after...buy it right then as chances are theirs a dozen or more people hunting the same thing.
