Can’t speak for this match, but most I’ve been to are a trap shoot format where you shoot a round. Whoever has the least misses wins a frozen turkey or sometimes a ham. If there is a tie, there is a shoot off to determine a winner. Good way to raise funds for a worthwhile cause.
Way back in the day I won a turkey. Your entry was for one shot at a paper target. Whoever had the most pellets in the circle won. IIRC it was $5 a round, the shoots were usually a fundraiser.
I helped with a few around Guthrie years ago, 1 shot at a 4 in. x 4 in. card that was rubber banded to a square post 90 feet away. 10 shooters per round. You could stand, sit to shoot. 12 ga shotgun any make, 1 shot, shell was #6 shot and was supplied by the line officer for the round. Who ever had the most pellets in the card for the round won a turkey or ham their choice. Man that was a long time ago.
