Well I went to see and fire the little mouse gun,,,
Turns out it wasn't a Model 21A
It is a "Model 950 B - Cal 6.35"

The biggest difference is that it is Single-Action Only,,,
And there's no manual safety.

From Wikipedia:
Early models (*950* and *950B* Pre-1968) do not have a safety lever, employing an inertial firing pin for safe hammer-down carry instead (the half cock notch is not for carry and could cause the gun to fire if dropped on the hammer). Later models (*950BS* Post-1968) are provided with an external safety lever.[2][3] The "950BS" stands for "Brevettato Sicurezza", meaning "patented safety" in Italian.

I was a bit chagrined at it not being a 21A but tried it anyway,,,
I ran two mags with no problems at all,,,
The pistol performed great.

And at about 15 feet I kept all 16 rounds in the head of a silhouette target,,,
Which I considered good what with my shaky hands,,,
And the pistol being so small.

The asking price was not out of reach,,,
And he threw in 5 full and 1 partial box of cartridges,,,
At current prices that is at least $150.00 worth of ammunition.

So I didn't even mention anything about the pistol being a 950B instead of a 21A,,,
I handed the gentleman our agreed upon price,,,
Shook his hand and we went for lunch.

He paid the range fee so that I could test the functionality,,,
So I reciprocated and paid for our lunch.

We had some good conversation,,,
And both left happy with the deal we had made.

I give Btown the "Aarond H. Graham - Stamp of Approval"

It's a very cool pistol,,,
Brings out my Inner James Bond.

The fact that it fired two mags flawlessly sold me,,,
If it fired two with no problems,,,
It will probably fire 20.

I had read about the 950's before,,,
Remember when I noticed that it had no safety,,,
That's when I looked at the model number on the slide.

Many Beretta enthusiasts say it was a better pistol than the 21A,,,
And that the 21A only came about to pass the 1968 restrictions on imported mouse guns.

But that's Internet Lore,,,
I have no idea whether it's true or not.

In any event,,,
I'm totally pleased with the overall deal.

Now I'm looking for a suitable wooden box,,,
Or thick book of some ilk to case it in.

Imbedded in a copy of “A Call to Arms” seems appropriate.
There was a movie starring Robert Mitchum,,,
He had a Colt Peacemaker in a hollowed out Bible.

Since it's an Italian pistol,,,
Perhaps a book with an Italian title?

La Dolce Vita comes to mind,,,
It means, The Sweet Life' or The Good Life,,,
The movie came out in 1960 so it's a period fit to the pistol.

If it was a 21A Bobcat,,,
I would consider a "Hello Kitty" lunchbox.

I once saw where someone put a Walther PPK,,,
In a vintage James Bond lunch pail,,,
I thought that was Way Kewl!

I know it sounds silly,,,
But I'm a retired old man,,,
