[QUOTE="Z71, post: 2045007, member: 26805"] That's what I was thinking...if you can buy a $1000 plus rifle...you can buy some ammo too..whatever the price... Personally..If I would've bought a new rifle I got no ammo for...I would set-up for reloading the caliber or just buy some over-priced ammo and get on with life(or both). I think part of the issue is the 'panic-buy' lately...He bought the rifle just before the election in November...the panic-buy sort of got started then. However after the Connecticut tradgedy..and the panic-buy hit full throttle..my pal's 'panic' seems to have peaked!...I mean I went to Wal Mart..and they had .308 ammo..it just wasn't cheap. I'm not just swimming in all the calibers ammo I need either...however I can afford to wait until things calm down to get what I do need. I cannot do much about everybody elses lack of preparation. Also...despite the current regime's favorite ditty "You didn't build that"...I did build my ammo stash by myself. Ammo was much cheaper in the 1990's and it wasn't all that hard to do...just buy and stash..if I used some I replaced it as soon as I could. My dollars...my foresight...not the community's ammo-pile.
