Found this a few months back and never got around to posting it.
It's a Savage model 3 in Monkey Wards clothing.

Based on the pattern, barrel length, curved steel butt-plate, and other features it appears to date to 1931-1932.

I like that. Love the metal butt plate. Are you going to restore?

I think I'm leaving this one as is. It's not in to bad of shape and still looks nice.

Actually got it to the range tonight. Shooting at 25yds with iron sights. And a target that kept swinging side to side on me. I was aiming at the #4.

That's a Dollar coin for size and the coin is just a hair over 1" wide.

Not bad for an almost 90 year old, single shot rifle.

I've got a Savage 3B that is very similar to your rifle,,,
It's easily one of the most precise .22's I own.

I'm in the process of paring down the number of .22 rifles I own,,,
I've amassed way too many over the years,,,
I'm giving three to a friends sons.

But I believe I will keep the Savage and try to restore it's cosmetics,,,
It's just a very satisfying rifle to plink cans with.
